Describe the instructional activities that will occur PRIOR to the SRT activity and how you will introduce
the SRT activity.
The teacher will present a Nearpod presentation about the Holocaust. The presentation includes practice
questions and mini activities that students can complete during the lecture. The presentation also includes a
BrainPop video for students to review information regarding the Holocaust. The teacher will spread the
presentation to cover a couple of days. There will be discussions throughout the lectures to converse about
the topic.
After the teacher has completed the Nearpod presentation and feels that the students have grasped the
information the teacher will present the Kahoot quiz. The teacher will describe how Kahoot works and inform
them that it’s a competitive quiz. The teacher will pull up the quiz and start the quiz.
Describe the purpose of the SRT activity (check all that apply):
☒ Assess prior knowledge ☐ Anticipatory set (Create interest in a topic) ☐ To illuminate common
misconceptions ☒ Formative assessment of content knowledge (for purpose of differentiation and
mastery for ALL students) ☐ Summative assessment of content knowledge ☒ Test preparation
☐ Survey/Poll ☐ Discussion starter ☐ “Homework” collection ☐ Other (please explain):

Briefly describe what will happen DURING the SRT activity:

The students will have the opportunity to compete in a Kahoot quiz. The students will be informed that the
quiz also works as a race. Whoever answers the fastest gets additional points. The teacher will assign students

with devices to pull up Kahoot. Students will answer the questions about the Holocaust.
Type of questions/prompts used in this activity (check all that apply):
☒ Multiple choice ☐ Multiple select ☐ True/False ☐ Yes/No
☐ Short open-ended response or fill-in the blank ☐ Longer open-ended response

If you are unable to provide a working sample of your questions, please list them below (8-10):

Right/Wrong answers: Will there be right/wrong answers to these questions?

☒ Yes ☐ No
☐ Mixed (Some will have correct answers, other will not.)
Immediate corrective feedback: Will you pre-select correct answers to some of all of the questions and
display correct response to the class after the SRT activity?
☒ Yes
☐ No
Why or why not?
I will pre-select correct answers. This way the students can tell a pattern in the type of questions they got
wrong or right. They can study those areas of the Holocaust before taking an exam.
Describe what will happen AFTER the SRT activity?
The teacher will go over the results of the Kahoot quiz. The teacher will review questions that were missed by
the majority of the class.
How will the data be used?
The teacher will review the results at the end of the class session. She will look for questions that were missed
by the majority of the class. The teacher will reteach those sections of the lesson so that students can master
that area. For any other questions that were missed, the teacher will pull the student aside and review
material with them.

Describe your personal learning goal for this activity.

My goal is for students to master the content by completing these student response tools. By practicing the
content, the students are more likely to learn the material.

Reflective Practice:
Students can be allowed to create their own questions. The teacher can include questions that the students
created and have the class complete the quiz. They can also go home and practice these questions.
