Overall Purpose of Post

To be responsible for the delivery of a co-ordinated volunteering programme to support


Gloucester City’s Great Place vision.

In particular this will include recruiting, training and co-ordinating volunteers to:
 support the running and development of the city’s Festivals and Events;
 provide wider access to and engagement with heritage buildings and spaces;
 facilitate the development of a Local List and Know Your Place record

To ensure that the range and diversity of volunteering opportunities are maximised (for
instance helping with educational events; designing leaflets; administration; acting as a
charity trustee; being a committee secretary; marketing; research and information
gathering) both to attract a broad demographic of volunteers and to provide strong support
to the city’s heritage and cultural organisations

Health and Safety

It is a general duty of all Cathedral staff to ensure they are familiar with the Health and
Safety Policy and to adhere to it at all times.

Please note that this post will require some evening and weekend working with Time
Off in Lieu to accommodate

This post is funded through the Great Place scheme.


Gloucester Great Place is supported by the National Lottery through Arts Council England and the
Heritage Lottery Fund. The project is managed by Gloucester Culture Trust.
Responsibilities and Nature and Scope of Role
Accountabilities

1 Develop volunteer roles to assist  Development of new volunteering role
