not to participate in the fund raiser for that season.)
 Make sure coaches have inhalers and bee sting kits with player’s names on them.
 A family representative must attend the parent informational meeting to be held at the end of the second
week of practice.

NO TOBACCO PRODUCTS (TO INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO CHEW OR CIGARETTES),

NO ALCOHOL, NO SWEARING
Each child will be playing as much as possible, however, this is a competitive sports learning program. You must keep
in mind that there are roughly 15 to 20 players per 5th and 6th grade team and 20 to 30 players per 7th and 8th grade team
with different skill levels. The coaches cannot guarantee EXACTLY how much time each player will be in the game.
The 10 minute instruction quarter in the 7th and 8th grade Jr Devils program is considered part of the playing time.
Our attendance policy has been defined as follows:
Excused absences will be defined as a doctor’s appointment, family vacation, death in the family, prior family
commitment. An unexcused absence is defined as no call/no show. The penalty for an unexcused absence is the
following:
THIS WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED!!!
 Miss one practice per week unexcused – sit one quarter
 Miss two practices per week unexcused – sit one game
 Forgetting equipment for a practice constitutes as an unexcused absence (child will be allowed to go
home, get equipment, and return to practice then marked late) Extra equipment will have to be signed out and
then paid for accordingly if not returned.
 Leaving practice for any reason other than an accepted excused absence, player will sit the first 2
minutes of the first quarter of the next game.
 Although we stress to your Players the importance of food grades, we are NOT A SAULT AREA
PUBLIC SCHOOL SPONSORED SPORTS PROGRAM, so academic eligibility is determined by the
individual families. If a parent chooses to have their son/daughter sit out due to grades, we will support their
choice but the above policy will be enforced.

SAULT GIANTS/JR. DEVILS PLAYER

AND PARENT CODE OF CONDUCTS
Player Behavior
 All players must participate in all fund-raisers or pay the player profit fee, which will determined by the amount
of profit each fund raisers brings in per player/participant.
 Proper behavior will be exhibited when in public, especially when wearing your Sault Giant/Jr. Devils jersey or
cheerleading uniforms. (This is especially important when you are representing the Sault Giants/Jr. Blue Devils Football
and Cheerleading Program at a home or away Sault High Football game or any other game.

 Unfortunately Sault Area Public Schools is unable to allow free entry to all home football games to Sault Giants
and Jr. Blue Devils Football and Cheerleading Program members during this football season. We would like to thank
them for that privilege in the past. They will allow free entry into ONLY SPECIFIC games to be announced at the
beginning of the season. WE DO ENCOURAGE YOUR FAMIL Y TO GET AN ATHLETIC PASS through the Athletic
Office. These passes offer a tremendous savings to ALL athletic events throughout the year. These passes are NOT
accepted at any Sault Giants or Sault Jr. Blue Devils games.

 Improper behavior at any football game will result in your immediate removal from the athletic field, and further
disciplinary action will be taken if necessary.

 You will address coaches as “Coach________” AND other adults as Mr. or Mrs.

 Respectful behavior will be shown towards all adults, students, players and VISITORS to the athletic field
complex.

 Good sportsmanship will be shown at all times.

 If you have concerns, complaints, or suggestions, please bring those to the attention of the coaches and/or director
BEFORE OR AFTER the game or practices.

 When you come to practice, BE READY TO PRACTICE!! During your practice, your attitude towards other
players will represent the utmost respect and sportsman like conduct or you will be removed from the program. Any
“PROBLEM” you may have or had with a fellow Giants and/or Jr. Blue Devil player or cheerteam member WILL STOP
AT THE GATE!!!! You do NOT bring your disagreements or grudges to the football field. If you choose to ignore this
rule, the following action will be taken:
o 1st Offense – Warning of offensive behavior
o 2nd Offense – You will be removed from the practice field
o 3rd Offense – Anytime throughout the season and you will be dismissed from the program.

 There will be NO arguing, swearing, or any other form of disrespectful behavior toward ANY coach. If you any
type of this disrespectful behavior is witnessed you will be dismissed from the field IMMEDIATELY and
PERMANENTLY. The director of the Sault Giants/Jr. Devils Football and Cheerleading Program will contact your
parents that evening to discuss your behavior and if deemed necessary, a meeting with the director, your parents, yourself
and your coach can be arranged to discuss the offense further.

 If there is a signed medical excuse preventing you from a certain drill during practice, that drill will be replaced
with another one selected by the coaches. If you are excused from a practice due to illness or injury still come to watch so
that you do not miss the skill being taught on that day.
PARENTS BEHAVIOR:

 Have your Giant/Jr. Devil at practices on time and picked up from practices on time.
 Your Giant/Jr. Devils are required to be at the game 1 hour before kick-off. This is to help them stretch, get
motivated, participate in team building activities and to run through plays.

 Be a positive role model: NO ALCOHOL, TOBACCO (cigarettes or chewing tobacco), OR FOUL

LANGUAGE permitted on playing field.

 If you have a grievance with a coach, PLEASE refrain from confronting coaching staff in a negative manner in
front of the players ESPECIALLY after a game, as this could change any player’s level of respect for you and that coach.
PLEASE be respectful when expressing your concerns. If you cannot tactfully bring your grievance to the coaches
attention, please feel free to bring it to the director’s attention by verbal and written letter. Remember our coaches are
ALL VOLUNTEERS!

 Have all necessary registration paperwork and fund raising money and orders turned into the proper adult by
required dates.

 Make sure to share all information sent home with extended family members especially those concerning fund
raising, pictures, and volunteer information.
