Part 1: You are talking to N in a chat room about “Education for All”, a volunteer education program
you recently joined aimed at improving education opportunities in high-needs schools throughout
Malaysia. Answer N using complete sentences. Use 30-40 words per answer. You have 10 minutes to
complete all 3 answers.

N- Welcome to the program! I have been a member for 6 months now. Why did you decide to join?

You-
Thank you. Its grate to here that. I decided to join this program to improve myself in teaching and
language proficiency. Here I can chat with anyone who has same interest as me to discuss about learning
system in Malaysia.

N- So what type of volunteer work would you like to try first?

You-
I think I should try the program which will benefit everyone as a whole. School should play the role of
educate the children with high education opportunities to everyone. I should volunteer myself to take part
in any activities carried out.

N- Apparently our program will be getting funding from the Government. How do you think we should
allocate these funds?

You-
That’s good. We can organize many activities then. We can discuss the entire program that we have
shortlisted and allocate these funds accordingly. Make sure the funds was fully used for benefit of our
program.
 Part 2: You have been preparing for the annual fundraiser dinner “Education for All” for a few
months. You receive this email from the club:
Dear Member
We are writing to inform you that we have decided to cancel next month’s annual fundraiser
dinner due to lack of support. Since we are only a month away, we feel it is not enough time
to gather the necessary support in time for the event. We apologize to those who have been
preparing and appreciate your hard work. If you have any comments or suggestions, please
feel free to email the club secretary.

Write an email to a friend. Write your feelings and suggest possible alternatives. Write about 50
words. You have 10 minutes.

Dear Siti,
I am very disappointed with the cancelation of our next month’s annual fundraiser dinner. We
have been preparing a lot of activities for the dinner and we go around getting support for our
program. I think we should carry out the fundraiser dinner not sooner but latter when we get
enough support.

Write an email to the club secretary. Explain your feelings and make suggestions. Write 120-150
words. You have 20 minutes.

Dear Siti,

I felt very disappointed with the decisions and I would like to make some suggestion to
overcome our problems.

We should gather and discuss our problems which cause the lacking of support for our
fundraiser dinner. This activity is very important raise some fund for our activities.
We should go around to get support our self. Identify some VIP who can give support to our
program.

We must work as team and overcome whatever obstacles that we face.
