Title: Polymer Concrete as a Sustainable and Corrosion-Proof Alternative to Corrosive

Sewer Environments

Most pre-cast concrete sewers’ problems originate from acids and chemicals in contact
with it. Corrosion and sustainability is the most common problems in pre-cast concrete sewers.
Having an alternative sustainable and corrosive free pre-cast polymer concrete greatly reduces
rehabilitation of sewer lines thus resulting in less traffic and rehabilitation cost, especially here in
the Philippines.

This research is about using sand in polymer concrete instead of cement to get rid of its
corrosive properties. As based on research, the capacity of polymer concrete meets the
conventional safety factor and the structural design requirements used in today’s engineering and
construction.
