Scheduling process :

1. When a sales order is created, the system determines the required material
availability date on the basis of the customer’s requested delivery date.
2. This date is based on times used for picking, packing, labelling, and loading the goods.
Therefore, this is the date of significance for requirements planning on which the
availability should be checked.
What is the difference between ECC and APO scheduling?

ECC Scheduling APO Scheduling

Both worked based on condition technique. But in ECC only fixed filed but in APO have N
number of fields
In ECC, We have only fixed fields (Only 2 fields) such as,
1. Based on sales doc type
2. Based on shipping point
In APO, We can have N number of fields,
1. Shipping point
2. Route
3. Plant
4. Item category….. Etc…

Note:
 Scheduling needs to be activated through OVLY transaction based on Sales Doc type
 Unloading point needs to be maintained at customer master level under Unloading
points tab
Material Availability date :
Material Availability date is actually Requested delivery date - Transit time - Pick/Pack time -
load time if it is a backwards scheduling.
System always start with back ward scheduling method, If MAD lies past, It will automatically
move to forward scheduling method.
