Question 1

Read the following text. Then, answer questions (a) – (j).

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. However, some people
skip it as they get up late and have to rush off to work. Some people just do not
have the habit of eating so early in the morning.

Having breakfast aids in maintaining a normal and healthy weight. It

keeps weight-related diseases such as heart diseases and high blood sugar at bay.
Thus, it leads to a longer and healthier life in the long run. Besides, breakfast
provides energy needed for bodily functions. The nutrients and energy gained
from a good breakfast help to maintain cell growth and repair. They also keep the
body well-nourished to perform well.

Skipping breakfast is definitely a huge mistake as it is needed to provide

the body with essential nutrients. Those who regularly skip breakfast put
unnecessary stress on their bodies and often find themselves feeling sluggish and
getting tired easily. This eventually takes a toll on the body, resulting in not only
slower but also weaker cell formation. The frequent skipping of breakfast can
eventually lead to serious health problems.

It is therefore very important that people should not give breakfast a miss.
