Dear Parents,

I can’t believe that we are starting week 3 of first

grade already! We are experiencing disruptions in our
daily schedule due to behavior difficulties. Please
take the time to sit down with your child and review
the classroom rules and expectations. We took our
first spelling test last Friday, and I am so proud of
how well the children did. Please continue to
practice your child’s high frequency words (reading
vocabulary words) and spelling words nightly. Thank
you! 

In reading this week our story is “Pig in a Wig” and

we will be learning about who helps animals. The
skills we will be working on are the short “i” vowel
sound, consonant x /ks/, and the plot (beginning,
middle, and end) of a story. In math we will continue
working in Topic 1-Understanding Addition.
