Simplified Rules of

TAYAMMUM When is Tayammum applicable?


& When water is not available within a radius of approximately 1.7 km.
& If there is so little water available that one cannot even carry out the
four Fardh of Wudhu.
On what items can Tayammum be made?
& Sand & Clay & Stone & Brick
3 Faraaidh (compulsory acts)
& Making an Intention (Niyyah) of purifying oneself.
& Press both hands on the sand/stone and rub them on the face.
& Press both hands on the sand/stone and rub both hands upto and
including the elbow.
Method of making Tayammum
& Making Niyyah (Intention) and reciting Bismillah.
& Press both hands on the sand/stone, dust off excess sand, if any, and
rub both hands over the entire face.
& Press both hands on the sand/stone, dust off excess sand, if any, and
rub the right hand from the fingers upto and including the elbow
using the left hand. Thereafter, rub the left hand in the similar
manner using the right hand. Ensure that the skin between the
fingers and beneath any rings are also rubbed.
What breaks Tayammum?
& The acts that break Wudhu will also break Tayammum.
& Tayammum will break when water becomes available.
