 OPENING CEREMONY

Emcee 1: Good morning everyone and welcome to first ever

National Immunization Week focusing in local government units.
Today, Local Chief Executives (LCEs) from Metro Manila,
developmental partners, health workers, parents are gathered to
recommence strong commitment and full support of key players to
work together to further improve and sustain the Immunization
Program.

Emcee 2: That’s right. We are also excited to launch our newest

immunization campaign from the Department of Health in
collaboration with the World Health Organization. It’s called “Come
Back to Bakuna, Back to your Health Center”

(emcee may ask crowd to repeat key message + hand gesture

for retention)

Emcee 1: Alright! We will definitely go back on that one. But before

we start, we would like to request everyone to please stand for the
Opening Prayer to be followed by the Philippine National Anthem
which will be led by the Taguig City Chorale.

Emcee 1: We would like to acknowledge the presence of the

following people who came here today signifying their support to
our Immunization program.

Emcee 2: To formally open today’s event we would like to call on

the Director of the DOH National Capital Region, please welcome,

Emcee 1: Thank you very much Dr. Valencia. We are pleased that
NCR took the initiative in hosting the celebration of the National
Immunization Week. Particularly, in the City of Taguig. Think big,
dream big, I love the City of Taguig!

 Overview of the National Immunization Program

Emcee 2: Every April, Immunization Week is celebrated not just in

the Philippines but around the globe. We celebrate this to
continuously promote the use of vaccines to protect people of all
ages against diseases. Immunization saves millions of lives and is
widely recognized as one of the world’s most successful and cost-
effective health interventions. To know more about the global and
local situation of the Immunization Program, we have Dr. Joyce
Ducusin, Director III of the Department of Health, Family Health
Office. A round of applause for Dr. Ducusin.

Emcee 1: Thank you very much Dr. Ducusin. Clearly, we have

come a long way in the Immunization program and we have a lot
of challenges to do, and this is why we are all gathered here today.

 Message of Support to the National Immunization Program

Emcee 2: This year’s theme for the National Immunization Week

is “Vaccination is Everyone’s Job, Protect our Children and Protect
our Communities. Come Back to Bakuna, Back to your Health
Center.” It emphasizes that DOH cannot do this campaign alone,
we need every help and support from everyone in order to achieve
our target coverage of fully immunized child. And so today, we are
joined by our partners to deliver their unwavering support to the
National Immunization Program. Please welcome, Ms. Julia Rees,
Deputy Director of UNICEF.

Emcee 1: Thank you, Ms. Rees. Another partner of the

Department to give their message of support, this time, the country
representative of World Health Organization, please welcome, Dr.
Gundo Weiler.

Emcee 2: Thank you, Dr. Weiler and Ms. Rees of UNICEF. Your
mere presence here in this event along with our key players in
health is a good indication that our goal to achieve our target of
fully immunized child is attainable.

 INTRODUCTION OF KEYNOTE SPEAKER

Emcee 1: To formally introduce the keynote speaker of today's

event, we the the Department of Health Undersecretary for
Technical Services, please welcome, Dr. Gerardo Bayugo. A round
of applause!

 KEYNOTE SPEAKER

Emcee 2: Thank you very much Sec. Ubial! Just like what our
health secretary said, the DOH cannot do this alone, we need the
help of everyone to ACHIEVE All for Health, towards Health for all!

CEREMONIAL TURN-OVER OF LED TELEVISION UNITS TO

LOCAL CHIEF EXECUTIVES

Emcee 1: As mentioned by Secretary Ubial, the Department of

Health will be distributing LED TV Units in local health facilities
nationwide. This project is called Philippine Health TV. At this
point, we would like to invite DOH Secretary Paulyn Jean B.
Rosell-Ubial, Undersecretary Gerardo Bayugo, Director Ariel
Valencia, and Dr. Mar Wynn Bello, Director of Health Promotion
and Communication Service of DOH to come up on stage and for
this ceremonial turn-over. We would also like to call Taguig Mayor
Lani Cayetano as the first recipient of the Philippine Health TV
from the Department of Health

(DOH VIPs will give LED TV Unit to Mayor Cayetano, Photo OP

will follow. Then, emcees will call, one by one, other Local
Chief Executives present in the event, list will be given by
DOH personnel. Photo Op should follow after receiving the
unit. A group photo of all LCEs present and DOH Personnel
should be done after all units are given)

A LOCAL CHIEF'S SUPPORT TO THE CHILDREN

Emcee 2: Thank you very much Sec. Ubial, Usec. Bayugo, Dir.
Valencia, Dr. Bello, Mayor Cayetano, (acknowledge other LCEs
present). In this event, we emphasize the importance of our Local
Chief Executives and developmental partners in sustaining the
National Immunization Program. That is why UNICEF prepared a
short video to show "A Local Chief's Support to the Children. Let's
Watch this.

RESPONSE

Emcee 1: We will now hear the response of one of our Local Chief
Executives in their support of the National Immunization Program.
To give this message, please welcome, none other than the Mayor
of Taguig City, and Chairperson of League of Municipalities, please
welcome Mayor Ma. Laarni "Lani" Lopez-Cayetano.

(If there is a standard introduction for Mayor Cayetano, this

can be replaced)

Emcee 2: Thank you very much Mayor Cayetano. The incessant

support of Taguig City not just in the National Immunization
Program but in all health programs is a clear indication that we can
ACHIEVE our goal of Kalusugan Pangkalahatan if we are all in this
together.

Signing of Pledge of Commitment

Emcee 1: And to represent their support on the National

Immunization Program, we are inviting once again DOH
Secretary Ubial, Undersecretary Bayugo, Director Valencia,
Director Bello, Mayor Cayetano, (call out other LCEs present) to
sign the pledge of commitment.

Launching of New Bakuna Campaign

Emcee 2: Now, we are excited to launch the newest campaign on

Immunization from the Department of Health together with the
World Health Organization. Without further ado, let us watch the
Come Back to Bakuna, Back to your Health Center commercials
and after that let's give it up the Bakuna Boys to perform the
Bakuna campaign live!

CLOSING

Emcee 1 and Emcee 2: Before we formally close this event, the
