Magic and Apple Afterschools 2018-2019 CALENDAR

Green = Possible EXTENDED DAY SESSION offered if enough interest.
(EXTENDED DAY sessions will be held on the campus of APPLE AFTERSCHOOL, 221
Thunderbird Drive, Aptos, Ca. 95003, (831) 685-0629. Extended day sessions allow use of any
hours between 8:00 and 5:30 p.m. COSTS: Students paying and attending same days as
afterschool $35 (full day k) $45 (gr. 1-6); extra day, siblings $85. Registration info will be sent a
few weeks prior to determine if there is enough interest for the extended session to be offered).

SAMPLE Activity schedules for extended day sessions

SUPERHERO DAY Monday: All students by 11, superhero costume, books, posters,
etc., $7 for pizza lunch (extra video $$ okay), snacks, trip approx. 11:45-2:00 (weather
permitting) In the morning try our superhero drawing contest and then later enjoy our
superhero fashion parade. In the p.m., we’ll “do lunch” at Village Host Pizza and then
return for a lesson about famous superheroes, create fun skits, and our own superhero
comics!

MONSTERS INC DAY Tuesday: All students by 11:00, lunch & snacks, trip
approx. In the a.m. draw your own monster with a variety of body parts and win a
prize. Later join a skit about misunderstood monsters, cook up some yummy
Frankenstein fingers, play monster p.e. games, and then enjoy the film, Monster’s
Universiity

DINOSUAR DAY Wednesday: All students by 11, lunch & snacks, $8 for movie In
the morning try drawing your favorite dino, or building an enclosure for Apple’s
collection. In the p.m. we’ll learn about different types of Dinos and then head to Green
Valley Cinema for the Disney film, Walking With Dinosuars.

SLEEPOVER DAY Thursday: All students by 9, p.j’s & pillow & 1 stuffed toy (in a
bag), $7 for pizza and ice cream, trip approx. 11:45-2:00 Get ready for a fun pajama
party with fortune telling, pillow relays, and pajama dancing. Later enjoy pizza slices
(delivered) and make your own sundae time. We’ll finish the day with pajama skits.

QUEST DAY Friday: All students by 11, lunch & drink, quest books or game Today,
noble students will traverse far away lands and complete many quests. Climb though an
Apple mini yarn course without tripling the alarm bell. Enjoy fort building and other fetes
of strength and agility in an attempt to capture our dragon egg!

per day Full Day Kindergarten, or $40 per day grades 1-6 or ½ day
kindergarten NOTE: Regular monthly afterschool tuition must be paid to qualify for
these rates

A for Afterschool Session for current Magic or Apple students attending the same
number of days and times (11:00 -5:30 grade K, 2:00-5:30 grade 1-6 or ½ day
K’s NOTE: Regular afterschool tuition for Jan. must be paid for these rates

E for Extra extended Days for current students adding days beyond regular afterschool

SAMPLE Spring Camp extended day session registration request

April (FRIDAY) HOUSE OF CARDS Bring snacks, favorite card games, dress black,
white, and red In the a.m. design your own deck of cards, play games and then watch
cards houses and dominoes fall! In the p.m. it’s an Uno and Apples-to-Apples face-off,
funny drama skits and plays, and cooking up some yummy popcorn to enjoy as we
watch one of our most favorite films, The Little Rascals

APRIL (Monday): MONKEY DAY Bring lunch and a drink, books about monkeys,
board games (trip 2-30-4:00 approx). We’re going bananas today and we’re not
monkeying around as we celebrate monkeys and apes. Enjoy the monkey bars at the
park, delicious banana splits, and even a “born to be wild” dance off. In the morning
we’ll enjoy sharing and playing each other’s board games and learning all about monkey
and the great apes. In the p.m. we’ll enjoy a trip to Seascape Park, and the film, Mighty
Joe Young.

APRIL (Tuesday): CARNIVAL DAY Bring lunch and a drink, $7 for movies (trip to
Green Valley Cinema 2:00-5:00 approx. extra $$ for snack ok—must be labeled ) Get
ready to party Mardi Gras style as we learn about the great carnival of Rio De
Janeiro. We’ll make our own cool masks and beads in the morning, play special carnival
games, and even have our faces painted. In the p.m. enjoy a trip to Green Valley
Cinema for a cool kid’s flick.

APRIL (Wednesday): MAD HATTER DAY Bring lunch and drink, favorite costume,
crazy hat(opt).
Come adorned with a wacky hat or cosutme and get ready to party down. In the a.m.
learn all about author Lewis Carroll, act in favorite scenes from the movie, help make
cookies for our tea party and of course enjoy the Disney Film, “Alice in
Wonderland”. After our own tea party we’ll enjoy some “maddening” games and silly
skits at Rio Park.

APRIL (Friday) PP PARTY Bring pajamas in a bag, lunch & drink, slumber party
games, pillow, $7 for Village Host Pizza (trip approx. 2:30-4) No, it’s not THAT kind of
PP—it’s pajamas and pizza—as today we celebrate the Slumber Party. Lessons will
focus on famed cartoon characters that are often the culprit of sleepless slumber parties,
slumber party snacks, a mock pillow challenge, balloon volleyball, twister, slumber party
tall tales and pajama drama skits! We’ll also enjoy Village Host Pizza and video
games—in our p.j’s--how embarrassing!
