A. Various Types of Conidiomata (Asexual Spores): Saccardoan

1. Amerospores: a non-filamentous spore with no septations and with no projections


longer than the spore body (does not include strongly curved spores or very long

2. Didymospores: a spore with only two cells (does not include strongly curved spores or
very long spores).

3. Phragmospores: a spore with two or more transverse septa (does not include strongly
curved spores or very long spores).

4. Dictyospores: a multicellular spore with septations that intersect in more than one plane.
These are also called muriform spores.
5. Scolecospores: a very long spore (includes both septate and non-septate spores).

6. Helicospores: a strongly curved or spiral spore.

7. Staurospores: A septate spore shaped like a pinwheel. Usually, each branch of the
pinwheel is also septate.
