All Christians are Called to Become a Disciple

Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the
Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Matt. 28:19
The goal of being a disciple is to become just like Jesus in this life
A disciple is not above his Teacher, but everyone who is perfectly trained will be like his
Teacher. Luke 6:40
How can we become disciples?
1. Read the Bible every day.
But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every
word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’ Matt. 4:4
2. Obey God’s Word
If you keep My commandments , you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My
Father’s commandments and abide in His love. John 15:10
If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall
be done for you. 8 By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be
My disciples. John 15:7-8
3. Spend the first hour of every day with God in prayer.
Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these other things shall be
added unto you. Matt. 6:33
For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will
be opened. Luke 11:10
Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy
may be full. John 16:24
4. Serve God faithfully in the church.
“That we should . . . . grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ— 16 from
whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to
the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for
the edifying of itself in love” Ephesians 4:15-16
5. Shine your light in the world (work, school and play).
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your
Father in heaven. Matthew 5:16
6. Make your life Goal to know the Lord Jesus and to walk with Him.
