Title: AM I IN THE RIGHT CHURCH?

Text: Ephesians 3:21

Ephesians 3:21
21 Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without
end. Amen.

Ekklesia is the Greek word of Church, which means “God called Assembly”

Introduction:

Controversies are hounding churches today. A lot of people are dismayed and
discouraged in what is happening to many churches and religions. There is no perfect
church but there is a right church. The church is not the building facilities but the people
themselves. Therefore the question be, “Am I in the right Church”? There is only one
Book that speaks of the Church and that is the Bible. You cannot put up a church without
the Bible as the basis, textbook and guidelines for her faith and practices.

Therefore, what is the right church?

Message:

A. The right CHURCH is where:

1. The Bible is highly viewed and regarded as the basis of FAITH and PRACTICE,
not any other books, manuals, prayer books or supplemental readings BUT ONLY
THE BIBLE.

Exodus 20:1-5
20 And God spake all these words, saying,

2 I am the Lord thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the
house of bondage.

3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in
heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.

5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a
jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth
generation of them that hate me;

2 Timothy 3:16
16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof,
for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

1 Peter 2:2
2 As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:

2. The Gospel is explained and preached

1 Corinthians 15:1-4
1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which
also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;

2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye
have believed in vain.

3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for
our sins according to the scriptures;

4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

3. The Lord Jesus is worshipped, glorified and lifted up (Hebrews 1:1-8). He is not a
subject of debate or argument.

Hebrews 1:1-8
1 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by
the prophets,

2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all
things, by whom also he made the worlds;

3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and
upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins,
sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high:

4 Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more
excellent name than they.

5 For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I
begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son?

6 And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the
angels of God worship him.

7 And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of
fire.

8 But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of
righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.

4. The Lord Jesus is preached as the Lord, Son of God and Savior and there is no
other
1 Timothy 2:5-7
5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;

6 Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.

7 Whereunto I am ordained a preacher, and an apostle, (I speak the truth in Christ, and lie
not;) a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and verity.

1 Timothy 3:16
16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the
flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the
world, received up into glory.

5. Repentance and faith because of His grace are the only conditions for salvation

Acts 20:21
21 Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith
toward our Lord Jesus Christ.

Ephesians 2:8-9
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

6. The Lord is Jesus, the Head of the Church and He is “the Savior of the Body.”
We acknowledge no other Founder nor Head except Jesus Christ, while other
churches and religions acknowledge other human founders.

Ephesians 5:23
23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and
he is the saviour of the body.
