Reflection about the case study of

The epic sibling feud between Mukesh and Anil Ambani

1.) What are the origins of the sibling dispute?

The origins of the sibling feud started when their father Dhirubhai Ambani the
(founder of Reliance Industries) have died without leaving any will to his heirs. Then as it
turns out to be, the sons of the founder have self-proclaimed to be the owners of the
company which have gave themselves a positions in the board of directors. The dispute
began when the oldest son Mukesh Ambani wants to reportedly tried to oust Anil
(Younger Brother) from the Board, In order for him to claim all the ownership of the
company to himself, which resulted as an act of greed.

2.) What kind of behaviors do you recognize in this conflict, especially among
the brothers?
I have recognize that in this conflict, the brothers have somewhat a behavior of
having a miscommunication, misguided of manner, greed and some of immaturity which
is childish if you look at it. The way I see it, it is somehow a brotherly fight between who
dominates and conquers the ownership. One of the brothers who is distracted about
doing the business first and gets lost about greediness of having the power to remove
his brother away from the family company. If so I have reflected that in this case, I have
observed that the brother has put aside his family to second, and puts the business into
first.

3.) What is the mother’s role in this conflict?

The mother’s role is the one who breaks the war between the two tides of the
parties. She is the only one who has the bravery in stopping the conflict between his
two sons.

4.) What dynamics lead to the escalation and later, to the de-escalation of
the conflict?
The dynamics that leads escalation to the conflict is when the uprising rage of
greed between the two brothers over the ownership of the company, which the Indian
government is also involved. Then the de-escalation of the conflict is when the two
brothers communicate to received notes and draft a non-compete agreement, all of this
was possible to stop, not because of the Indian government, or the Indian supreme
court, but because of simple motherly love to his sons.
