Description of item content This website is an excellent resource to use with

gifted and high ability learners. Simply choose one
of the images, which displays 4 mathematical
objects (i.e. shapes, coins, numbers, dice, clocks,
anything!). Teachers simply ask, “Which one doesn’t
belong?” Students verbally reason and explain why
one of the four math objects presented doesn’t
belong with the others. There are several answers
(no one correct answer). It develops students’ math
reasoning, helps them speak mathematically, and
requires higher order thinking skills to argue their
conflicting perspectives.
How this item informs your goals. This website contributes to the OneNote full of
Significance in your Practicum/Internship resources for enrichment activities for K-2 teachers. I
experience. also used this during the professional development
to help teachers see what enrichment activities
might look like.

Acquisition Challenge Level (considering Level 1

time, effort, money, etc. on scale of easy = 1 This resources is free, and I did not really need to
to difficult = 5) find it because I had heard about it this past year at
