Description of item content The OneNote section “Affective Support” includes a
tab for Bibliotherapy, which includes the Affective
Curriculum Unit I created for my Applied Project.
This is a 4 week unit that can be implemented
during small group reading instruction for
kindergarten and is easily adjusted for first and
second grades. Each week students can learn
about social-emotional topics integrated into
reading content through a bibliotherapy strategy.
Students can work through different social-
emotional needs like perfectionism, self-managing
emotions, cooperation, and social responsibility.

resources together for the unit, writing the unit,

cost any money to make, though I did implement
the unit in my classroom to assure its effectiveness,
and for this I purchased the children’s books
needed.
