Conditional Sentence is a phrase used to express something that may happen or may not occur
as expected .
Conditional sentence consists of two clauses , namely : IF Clause and Main Clause .
In Main Clause there are can, may, must, will/shall (modals)
The layout of the Main Clause can be in front or behind the IF clause. The difference lies not
affect the meaning .
This sentence reveals the events that are expected to occur in the future and are likely to
occur
(Kalimat ini mengungkapkan kejadian yang diharapkan akan terjadi di masa yang akan datang
dan memiliki kemungkinan untuk terjadi)

4. If Agnes Monica were my girlfriend, I would be the happiest boy in the world.
(mean: Agnes Monica is not my girlfriend, so I am not the happiest boy in the world)
3 Type III: Past Conditional
It states that the expected events occurred in the past , but it did not happen .
(Kalimat ini menyatakan peristiwa yang diharapkan terjadi di waktu lampau, tetapi tidak
terjadi)
Modal pada main clause berbentuk past tense + have
Kata kerja dan to be bentuk ke 3
If clause bentuk past perfect tense

Contoh:
1. If she had studied hard, she would have passed the final exam.
(mean: She didn’t study hard, so she didn’t pass the final exam.)
2. If the team had played well, it would have won the competition.
(mean: The didn’t play well, so the team didn’t win the competition)
3. If Britney Spears had been here, I would have been very happy.
