Resident Profile
News Russ Tapley & Diane Van Boxtel
Russ and Diane first came to SCF in January 2009 when Diane had a
Mary Kay Leadership Conference in Phoenix and wanted to visit her
long time friend Debbie Danser who had recently bought a home
at SCF. We immediately feel in love with the “resort” feel of SCF,
however, we had no thoughts of retirement.
Time passsed, the market turned downward, lot prices kept drop-
ping and Debbie kept encouraging us to buy a lot so in May 2009
we told Debbie to pick us out a lot. Even though we had no plans
to retire anywhere yet we minimally felt it would be a good invest-
ment and we could always rent out the home. Since that time we
have been both visiting SCF and renting out our home.
A little about the two of us, we met in California in early 80’s. Russ
has always been a “uniform guy”; having been a California Highway
Patrol Officer, served in Viet Nam as a Marine, served in the US
Army retiring after 27 years as a Command Sgt Major, and worked
for US Postal Service. Russ enjoys playing pickelball and Texas hold
em and loves his Corvette.
Diane has been in numerous banking/finance positions over her career, however, after several mergers and
opportunities for her to be downsized she decided she would look for something where she had more con-
trol over her destiny yet could “give back” and make a difference for others. She has now been spearheading
her own business for l5 years, offering consultative services for skin care and cosmetics to women all over
the United States and has a team of women throughout the US who she is honored to coach/mentor, help-
ing them grow their business.
We love to travel and this year we went to Europe twice. Additionally, we have a home in Green Bay, WI.
For these two reasons we aren’t at SCF as much as we would like but when we are there we thoroughly en-
joy every moment. Both of us love the friendliness of the people at SCF and all the wonderful relationships
we made and I am forever grateful to my friend Debbie for encouraging us to build a home at SCF.
