Overview of the lesson: Lesson started with the teacher stating the objective of today’s lesson.
Prior knowledge was activated through questioning. The lesson’s aim was for students to be able
identify odd and even numbers. Pictorial representation was used on the board as the students
count while identifying odd and even numbers. Various examples were provided on the board.
After the teacher’s instruction, a few students were called on to distribute the workbooks.
Students work on their workbook for approximately 7 minutes. The first finishers were rewarded
with some stickers. After completing some problems, the students worked cooperatively to
complete an activity. Some students were coloring and some were writing. The students appear
to have enjoyed the activity. The teacher incorporated some element of fun into the lesson. The
assessment was well executed using the large cube.
Areas for development:
Personal target and preparation in the lesson plan must be more detailed. Your response is vague
and wasn’t able to determine your personal focus.
Purpose of the cooperative grouping activity was not clear, at least, in the lesson plan.
Students need to be challenge in the classroom and it is the teacher’s responsibility to make that
happen.
Lesson appear to be too teacher-centered. Direct instruction
