ALS-2 Mono-user
ALS-2 Level 1:
Mud Logging acquisition system with one computer (CG1); parameters acquired
from DAP, MWD or Gaslogger. Alarms on all parameters, no data storage, no
Masterlog, no off-line software package
ALS-2 Level 2:
Mud Logging acquisition system with two computers (RTM, TDL); up to 3 remote
terminals; parameters acquired from DAP, MWD and Gaslogger (in/out); alarms
(internal/external) on all parameters, data storage by depth on RTM and then
transferred to TDX, computerized Masterlog, no off-line applications package
ALS-2 Level 3:
An ALS-2 Level 2 with the off-line applications package and the ability to generate
custom logs
ALS-2 Multi-user
ALS-2 Level 4:
Mud Logging acquisition system with four computers (RTM, RTG, SVX, TDX); up
to 20 stations via network; parameters acquired from any of DAP 1 or 2, MWD
and Gaslogger/Reserval; alarms on all parameters, data storage vs. time/depth
on SVX, graphic display on RTG and stations, computerized composite log, off-
line applications package
ALS-2 Level 5:
An ALS-2 Level 4 with multi-well correlation software, cementation, Leak-off Test,
Drill-off Test package
ALS 2.2
ALS 2.2 is a series of design modifications that allow networked ALS-2
computers to exchange data seamlessly with linked systems.
ALS 2.2 was designed mainly so that the ALS computers can send and
receive WITS (Wellsite Information Transfer Standard) data through the
TCP/IP (network) connection; this enables greater flexibility for data
transfer to/from outside the system, especially when transmission to a
secure Web Server is required.

Connections:
Serial to RTM, TDX
Port J from SCP
• The WITS server is a new version of RTG which is now called RTG_NT.
• RTG_NT is designed to run WITS Launcher, WITS Editor, Time backup and RTG
WITS configuration backup, and to handle 16- and 32-bit graphics.
• The software of RTM and SVX (Server) have been modified to be compatible with
RTG-NT. The Server now uses Novell Netware (V 3.2) with a Pervasive SQL 2000
engine.
• The TDX station (V 3.1) now runs under Windows 2000 (NT) and is called
TDX_NT, with additional application packages added.
Server (SVX)
SVX
Connects all stations in system
Controls off-line printers
Records depth database on drive N:
Records time database on drive T:
Serves time and date to networked
stations
Connections:
Ethernet to LAN
Security Keys
Yellow key is used with NT Ver. 1.01 and
protects Geoservices DOS, Windows
applications; one key is used and must
be on TDX
White key is for NT Ver. 2.01 and protects
only Geoservices Windows applications;
all stations must have key
White key can be used with NT Ver. 1.01 if
a software ‘patch’ has been installed
Terminal Server
This has nothing to do with SVX; it is a Terminal
special TDX station that links remote Server
client stations to our system through
TCP/IP protocol
Runs under Windows 2000
Displays XVIGI Windows real-time
screens
Prints XVIGI Windows screens on any
printer, even on another client station
linked to the terminal server
Depth Database
Recorded in
N:\DATABASE\<databasename>
(I.e. well name)
If an averaged database is created,
it will be recorded in subdirectory
N:\database\<databasename>\AVG_1\
Multiple databases from previous wells
can be stored on drive N: and/or drive
C: of stations and selected via
DTBUTILS on TDX station
Time Database
Recorded in T:\DATABASE\TIME
Each hour of data recorded in a file
of the form LTmmddhh.DAT
Current hour uses temporary file
LTmmddhh.PRE; current *.PRE file is
erased at end of hour
You cannot access a *.DAT file if
equivalent *.PRE file exists
