1) What have caused the severely increasing problem in the TRANSPORTATION

SYSTEM in the Philippines? (max 500words)

Philippines has one of the fastest growing economy in Asia, yet it is super traffic
everywhere. The main cause of this problem in transportation system is the lack of
infrastructure and without a proper ordinance of traffic rules. Since people begins to
buy more cars each year it is a natural effect that the road will be more congested if the
roads are not to be increased or widen. Another is illegal parking and vendors, these are
also a major cause to traffic congestion and accidence since it greatly decreases the
capacity of the roads and can increase the scope of blind spot the drivers can see. Also,
the lack of mass transportation system like rail transits and buses can greatly decrease
the efficiency of the roads used to traverse people given that the volume of commuters
a day is a lot. Last but definitely not the least, no proper terminals or stations for buses
and jeepneys because of this people will unload and load everywhere in which they are
more convenient or near to their places, this kind of action can greatly cause traffic since
the vehicle will stop first to take in and out of the passenger thus the vehicles behind
will also stop making a domino effect.

2) What does the government of the Philippines needs to make the

TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM in the PHILIPPINES sustainable? (max 500 words)

Given with various of problems in the transportation system of Philippines that causes
tragic traffic congestion. Government of the Philippines should start taking step to settle
the problems. One of the most effective and sustainable solution is to have a vast mass
transportation system that surround the city and link cities to cities since it can
accommodate more passengers compared to private vehicles and buses with efficient,
fast, and environmental friendly since it does not use gas. Discourage people to buy cars
and encourage them to use public vehicles, to allow this the government should
modernized public vehicles and should have an adequate and safe capacity for each of
the passenger. Another is modern traffic regulation system, government should have an
integrated traffic lights that can monitor the traffic density of each intersection to
analyze the duration of green, yellow and red lights, and it should be synchronized.
Coordinated projects and proper urban planning, every project should be planned with
a sustainable vision, given that the public projects of the government should be
coordinated with concerning citizen and agencies. Build a proper and ideal terminals
and stations for the buses and jeepneys since this is the most irritating problem in roads
because even if the roads are wide open there would also be unnecessary stop due to the
unloading and loading of passengers anywhere. Augmenting the rush hour, since most
of our activities have an exact time like for work and school roads will eventually be
crowded at peak time and uncongested when not.
