SEWADAL CAMP, Seattle 2010

With blessing of His holiness Baba Hardev Singh Ji, first Sewa Dal Camp of Seattle, WA was
organized on October 9th and 10th, 2010. Rev. Harchet Singh Dhillon Ji, Shikshak, from Tracy, CA
came for this 2 day visit. Sewadal camp begin with registration on Saturday morning at 9.30am
followed by the breakfast. Official inauguration of the camp was done at 10.30am by Rev.
Sohan Singh Ubbi Ji. He shared the significance of sewa done by mind, body and wealth. He
mentioned if this sewa is rendered selflessly, without any motive, it surely will accepted by True
Master. After blessings from Stage, the camp began with sewadal prayer, followed by training
of six physical training exercises and four yoga exercises taught by Rev. Dhillon Ji. He made sure
that all the attending members achieved proper understanding of all the exercises, yoga and
commands. Thereafter, the members sang sewadal marching geet.

Second half of the day was mainly concentrated on the history of Sant Nirankari Misson. Rev.
Dhillon ji told everyone about the history and formation of sewadal in 1956. He also added that
sewadal not only actively takes part in mission’s activities, but also in other social welfare
projects or whenever needed. He gave a recent example where 600 volunteers from Nirankari
mission are participating in the successfully functioning of Common Wealth Games. On the
same note, he mentioned that sewadal contributes selflessly when countries were hit by
natural calamities like Tsunami.

Rev. Dhillon Ji emphasized on the importance of discipline in Sewadal. He mentioned about the
daily and/or weekly duties of sewadal to be performed during the congregations. He provided
specific examples to demonstrate the attending members how to perform the duites
appropriately. He also asked for suggestions and recommendations. Towards the end of the day
all the members played a couple of games highlighting the importance of communication and
team work. After the tea break all the members gathered for campfire where they shared their
stories, experiences, jokes and songs etc.
On Sunday, the day stared with sewadal rally where 22 members demonstrated the physical
training exercises along with sewadal prayer and marching geet, to the sangat. Sewadal rally
ended with blessings from stage. After a short break, the congregation began with holy verses
of avtar bani. Various members including kids shared their thoughts about “Sewa” which the
topic for the congregation. Certificates of completion of Sewadal camp were awarded to
participating member by Rev. Dhillon ji followed by vichar. Presiding from stage Rev. Dhillon Ji
shared his personal experiences of sewadal. He mentioned that such event is only possible with
blessings of Baba ji, were everyone is gathered whole heartedly without worrying about
anything else. He also mentioned that whenever we come to sangat, we should come as an
empty vessel which is ready to be filled with wealth of thoughts shared by the saints. He further
added that in presence of the almighty, each and every person holds the same place,
irrespective of their status in the society. He shared an example, where the high officials and
common people work together in sewadal for successful completion of congregations and
samagams.
By sharing various personal experiences Rev. Dhillon ji added a very personal touch to the
whole event, which made each and every moment memorable. May nirankar bless Seattle
