Description:
D270 DURABUILD FORM RELEASE-O is a ready to use mineral oil based
formwork/ mould release agent. High quality surface finish is assured compared to
conventional mould oil. It is a blend of natural organic chemicals which reacts with the
alkali in the concrete to form a thin water repellent film which prevents adhesion of
concrete over formworks and thus enables easy and quick release.

Uses:
To allow fast, clean and easy stripping of steel, plastic, aluminium and wooden
formwork resulting in high quality, fair faced and stain free concrete. Number of lifts of
shutter is substantially increased.

Application Method:
1 Surface Preparation
o The moulds should be dry and clean. For new moulds, no preparation is
needed; however where extensive reuse of timber formwork is foreseen, it can
be protected from alkali attack by using Durabuild Form Release-O. For used
moulds, any concrete or rust residues must be removed.
2 Application
o Durabuild Form Release-O should be applied in a thin layer and even coat
preferably by spray (brush/sponge/clean cotton waste may be used as well but
coverage will be low). Unsealed new wooden formwork should be given a seal
coat and then a final coat prior to placing concrete. Any excess material over
formwork should be wiped out, otherwise thick application leads to surface
dusting. Spray application is always advisable for thin application and higher
coverage.
3 Cleaning
Use Durabuild cleaners/ detergents together with stiff brushing and water rinsing.

Precautions and Limitations:
Protect the D270 FORM RELEASE-O applied surface from rain for at least 1 to 2
hours from the time of application.
