performing structural and thermal analyses.

• It is intended for new or occasional MAPDL users, regardless of the


CAD software used.

Product Customer Training Material

• MAPDL is the current version of the original fully configured ANSYS


mechanical product
– sometimes referred to as “classic” ANSYS

• Standalone product with a self contained GUI and command line


driven interface
– focus of this course

• Can be launched independently or from the Workbench environment

• MAPDL elements and solvers are used for Workbench based


mechanical analysis products (ANSYS Mechanical)
