PART 1
After checking the Unit 1 Topic 2 : Modal Verbs, write 2 sentences using each one
of the following modal verbs regarding your daily life: can – could – may - must -
should - ought to – have to – need to- had better - would.
1- You can do it because you are an excellent student.
2- Could you go with me to the Cinema?
3- I may talk with my boss because I have somethin important to tell him.
4- I must study for the English Exam.
5- You should watch the movie "Zootopia" because It's very funny.
6- My wife ought to stay in bed because is sick.
7- You have to claim the money today because you need to pay many things.
8- I need to wash my car because It's very dirty.
9- You had better not park here because you could got a penalty.
10- You would feel better if you sleep early tonight.

PART 2
Part 2: According to the topic Past Progressive (Unit 1: Topic 3), each student must
write 10 things you were doing yesterday:
1- In the morning yesterday, I was drinking a cup of coffee.
2- I was reading the local newspaper.
3- I was working all day yesterday.
4- I was visiting my uncle Freddy in his farm last night.
5- I was reading a newspaper in the morning.
6- My mom was cooking a delicious chocolate cake.

9- I was visiting the hairdresser yesterday because I needed a haircut.

PART 3

Write a text about the activities you were doing last Sunday; you can use time. Use
at least two pictures related to your day. You should write three paragraphs:

My Last Lovely Sunday

Last Sunday was a very special day because I did some activities very special.

In the morning, I was waking up at 7:30 am. At 8 am, I was drinking a hot cup of
coffee and I was having my breaksfast at 8:30 am. Later, while I was listening
music, I cleaned my house and I washed my clothes. I like to stay and relax in my
house in the morning on Sundays because I work everyday and I step away from
home everyday. Then, at 11 am I was preparing my lunch. I wanted to have a
delicious fried fish with patacon and salad.

In the afternoon, at 1 pm, I was taking a shower because I had a party at 3 pm. I
was going out with friends to the house of Diana, a co-worker. We were playing the
Secret Friend and I received a beautiful present from Julián. I gave a gift to my
secret friend, I bought him a cute shirt. We were sharing a good time, we were
drinking some beers and some sodas.

At night, at 7 pm, I was visiting my little niece, she is 4 years old and I love her so
much. We were playing together, we were doing some homeworks about coloring
and pasting pictures. I really enjoy to spend my time with her. At 9:00 pm I was
arriving home, then I was watching the news while I prepared all for the next day.
At 10:30 pm I was sleeping because I was very tired. I can say I really enjoyed this
day.
