Unit 1 Topic 2: Modal Verbs
Part 1: After checking the Unit 1 Topic 2: Modal Verbs, write 1 sentences using each one
of the following modal verbs regarding your daily life: can – could – may - must - should -
ought to – have to – need to- had better - would.
Example:
 I must go to the doctor because I have a toothache.

Topic 3: Past Progressive

Part 2: According to the topic Past Progressive (Unit 1: Topic 3), each student must write
10 things you were doing yesterday:

Part 3: Write a text about the activities you were doing last Sunday; you can use time. Use
at least two pictures related to your day. You should write three paragraphs:

Each paragraph must have minimum four (4) sentences and maximum six (6) sentences. It
must have a title, from 220 words to 250 and it is necessary to use and highlight the
following topics:

 When and while

Visit to the Maragato waterfall

Every Sunday, I try to take advantage of them to rest and walk with my family and
friends. Last Sunday at 8 in the morning I was taking a bath because we were going
with my family to know the waterfall of Maragato. When I was getting dressed my
mother called to invite us for lunch. I was telling my mother that I should take lunch
because we were going for a walk. While I was having breakfast my son was getting
ready to go out. I told my boyfriend that he should bring water to hydrate us on the
way.
 When we arrived at the waterfall it was already late. I was tired of walking, so we decided to
rest in the shade of a tree. I was drinking water and serving lunch. Then I was walking down
a path that led to the waterfall. I needed to rest and hydrate after walking.

In the afternoon, I was back home. I was preparing the food, while my son was preparing the
uniform and notebooks for school. At night, I should take a bath to relax and rest. To ended
the day, my son and I were watching a movie when the grandparents came to visit us. my son
was telling them about the waterfall and we agreed to go with them again because it is a
wonderful place.
