Tactic #2
Compare two halves of a sentence. For questions testing conjunctions, compare the two halves of
the sentence and consider their relationship. Use this information to help you choose the correct
conjunction.

Other conjunctions occur in natural pairs. Learn to recognize these patterns to help you
identify the correct choices quickly.

Look at the verbs in gerund/infinitive questions. If the answer choices include both gerunds and
infinitives, look at the verb in the question to help you decide which is correct.
Tactic #2
Learn as many phrasal verbs as possible. Phrasal verbs are sometimes tested in the TOEIC test.
Familiarize yourself with as many common phrasal verbs as possible.
