    Strontium-90 Used in electron tubes to treat eye diseases and as a


    radiation source in industrial thickness gauges.

    Phosphorus-32 Phosphate fertilizers containing P-32 can be used to study


    the metabolism of phosphorus by plants (mechanism
    studies)

    Iodine-131 Used as thyroid gland tracers

    Gallium-67 Tracer used to detect tumours

    Sodium-24 Detects leaks in underground water pipes

    Carbon-14 Carbon dating detects the age of fossil plants and animals
    since the half-life of C-14 is already known
