Africa essay

Africa is the world's second largest and second most-populous continent (behind Asia in both
categories). At about 30.3 million km2 (11.7 million square miles) including adjacent islands, it covers
6% of Earth’s total surface area and 20% of its land area.[3] With 1.2 billion people[1] as of 2016, it
accounts for about 16% of the world's human population.

Owing to Africa's position across equatorial and subtropical latitudes in both the northern and
southern hemisphere, several different climate types can be found within it. The equator runs
through the middle of Africa, as do the Tropic of Cancer and the Tropic of Capricorn, making Africa
the most tropical continent. Africa holds many heat-related records: the continent has the hottest
extended region year-round, the areas with the hottest summer climate, the highest sunshine
duration etc. Climate change will be felt in many ways for animals, and especially for humans. This
change is now widely understood to be caused by pollution-producing oil and fumes. Because of food
shortage, thousands of people die every year in Africa. It is also said that girls suffer more because
of the lack of food and water, marriages and sexual violence and also parts of the country have not
had any rain for many years, which intestified the food crisis.
As I said before, many people die every day or year because of the famine, droughts, corruption and
military conflicts. Their situation in Africa is very sad especially when they have so many natural
resources and also attractive views. It also has many widespreads; agriculture is increased in East Africa,
and there is infrastructure investment in Ethiopia.

The organisations that are involved in the topic are charities, NGOs and Europe. The Joint Africa EU
Strategy was adopted in 2007 as the formal chanel for EU relations with African countries thourgh
periodical action plans. There are 3 regional strategies that europeans has adopted for Africa: The horn of
Africa, Sahel and Golf of Guinea.

Well, I expect that the problems that Africa is facing with, will not be solved in the short run because they
are require the collaboration of several organisations such as the Europe, United Nations, charities and
the African goverments.
