Dear Justice Young,

As Michigan State University faculty members, we recommend that you decline to
accept the full payout of your $1.275 million contract, as former general counsel at
MSU. Your work of 8 months, at the rate of $475,000 per year, would result in
approximately $318,250 in earnings. Declining the full payout would be respectful to the
survivors, Michigan taxpayers, MSU students, and the thousands of MSU employees
who have worked through the difficult circumstances of the last years and will continue
to face the financial consequences of the Nassar-Strampel disaster for years to come.

MSU staff and a few students have also signed this letter.
