Application

Application software is a program or group of programs designed for end users. These
programs are divided into two classes: system software and application software.

Database
A database-management system (DBMS) is a computer-software application that interacts with
end-users, other applications, and the database itself to capture and analyze data. A general-
purpose DBMS allows the definition, creation, querying, update, and administration of
databases

Simulation
Simulation software is based on the process of modeling a real phenomenon with a set of
mathematical formulas. It is, essentially, a program that allows the user to observe an operation
through simulation without actually performing that operation.

Word processing
word processor is an electronic device or computer software application that performs the
task of composing, editing, formatting, and printing of documents.

Graphics
In computer graphics, graphics software refers to aprogram or collection of programs that
enable a person to manipulate images or models visually on a computer. ...Examples of
such programs include GIMP, Adobe Photoshop, CorelDRAW, Pizap, Microsoft Publisher,
Picasa, etc.
