Epuni School
Nau mai e te whānau o te Kura Epuni,
Tēna koutou katoa,
Welcoming ERO (Education Review Office) last week with a pōwhiri
was very moving. Our tamariki displayed our school values with such
pride. The girls who did the karanga were amazing and the school
performed the haka and the Epuni waiata with such passion.
You may have noticed we have our Values signs up around the school.
They are in the school corridors, the hall and in every classroom. We
celebrate our school values in many different ways thoughout the day
relating them to our learning and social interactions.
Te Kāhui Mātau
Te Kāhui Mātau, Epuni whanau, came together last year to support our
tamariki and to provide guidance in our understanding of the Māori
world.
We are having our first meeting of the year, hopefully under the trees,
sharing kai together on Wednesday 27th February at 5:30pm.
Everyone is welcome, to come and join us with your tamariki. Please
let Whaea Karen in Kahikatea (Room 6), know if you are able to join us
so we can get the pizza order sorted, by popping in or e-mailing her,
karen.scoon@epuni.school.nz.
Whānau Group
The school’s whānau group has been active for a number of years and
helps support the kura in so many ways. Last year they organised two
great Family Fun days, helped with the working bee, our Christmas
jingle evening and other school activities.
Our next whānau meeting is on Thursday 28th February at 3:15pm to
4:00pm. We would love you to join us to plan social and fundraising
events for 2019. Many hands make light work for all.
Once again I would like to thank everyone who supports our school
and tamariki, both whānau and the wider community.
It’s all the little things you do that make a huge difference to what we
can achieve.

School Gate
For the safety of our tamariki, the school gate
is closed from 8.30-9.00am and 2.45-3.15pm.
During this time the chain will be across the
drive so vehicles cannot enter or leave.

Tawhairauriki & Kōwhai — $5.00 per child.
 It is important, especially in an emergency, that
we have your correct contact details. Please let
the office know if these have changed since last
year.
 Please ensure you sign your children out at the
office if you are taking them out during school
time and sign them back in when they return.
