Academic Success and Retention
Vanesa, Maria, Jacob and Karla at
Trevecca Graduation Their average GPA last semester was 3.46 and retention
rate is 97.7%. This academic record has not occurred by chance. I
continue to be in awe of the assiduous commitment of our
scholars despite these troubling times of uncertainty. We also
credit the student’s success to the significant time and guidance
our mentors have provided. As you might imagine, there have
been many academic and non-academic events that might
have upended classroom pursuits but by early recognition and
intervention by our mentors all is well.

Finally, we are now a statewide organization and our

numbers of scholarships and financial need has increased. Our
budget for the fall 2018- spring 2019 academic year is $1.2 million.
Our standard ECE scholarship is $6,250/year or $25,000 over four
years. The student and the student’s family are asked to
contribute $4000/year. We appreciate your sustained financial
support and if you could make a contribution today, I know 214
students join me, Molly Haynes, and our board in thanking you for
providing them an Equal Chance for Education.

April 26, Siloam Health hosted their second annual Amplify Nashville Event, where community
members were honored for their work supporting immigrant communities. Dr. Spalding
received the Bridge Builder Award and ECE scholars surprised him backstage, it was an
unforgettable event!
