Students respond of resume technique (preparation) on speaking achievement

A. Research context
Before the class begin usually the students must prepare their
material before the class, it’s important for students to prepare their
material before the class begin, they must read their material or prepare
their material before the class to help them when the teaching learning
process because it is the necessary for students itself. And also make the
teacher easier to deliver their material and make the students understand
enough the material and to make the class active in teaching learning
process. Active learning is anything that involves students in doing things
and thinking about the things they are doing1. Felder and Brent define
active learning as anything course-related that all students in a class
session are called upon to do other than simply watching, listening and

It is common for students to prepare their material before the class

especially in the speaking class. Usually in the speaking class the lecturer
only give the course outline for the student and ask the student to prepare
the material at home before the class begin next week. The lecturer didn’t
give the material for student only ask the student to prepare the material at
home by searching on Google or anything. Before teaching learning of
speaking the student should prepare their material at home by reading
book or searching the material to make them understand enough the
material.
But in the reality the students has different opinion about their
preparation before the class, this statement based on the interview, the
students stated that “ no, I haven’t but sometime I prepare my material
before came into the class, such searching in Google or reading book3 “.
Another students has different opinion about their preparation, he stated

 that “ Before I came to my class I have preparation as we know that
sometime our lecturer ask me to present in front of the class, so before I
present first in front of the class I have to preparation first, for example
sometime if our lecturer ask me to story or to tell about direction if we
don’t have preparation maybe we thing or maybe we will confuse to
answer it so to keep our safeness we have to we must have preparation
first, my preparation read book or discuss with my friends 4” Commented [T2]: Cek spasi

Based on the interview above means that the students has different
opinion about their preparation before speaking class, the student may find
difficulty in teaching learning process if they don’t have preparation first,
it’s depend on their necessary or their needed because every students has
different way to learn. Preparation is very important for student before
teaching and learning process it can help the students to understand
enough the material especially in speaking class.
In this research, the researcher tends to conduct a research about
students preparation before speaking class in teaching learning program of
STAIN Pamekasan. The researcher want to know the student’s respond
about students preparation. The researcher believe that students has
different preparation before speaking class because the students has
different ways to learn.
