BACHELOR OF SCIENCE (HONS) CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT

Instruction to students:-

1. Define the terms of ‘Management’, ‘Project Management’ and ‘Construction

Project Management’.

2. Illustrate the contract relationships under the following procurement

arrangements
a) Traditional
b) Design and Build
c) Management contracting
d) Construction Management

3. Discuss FIVE (5) conditions of advantages and disadvantages for traditional

procurement in comparison with design and build procurement.

4. Explain the roles and responsibilities of the following participants:

a. Client
b. Design Consultant
c. Contractor

5. The development of a construction project involves many interrelated

activities. The whole process can be divided into FIVE (5) main stages,
discuss the five (5) stages with the aid of illustration.
