G18 9 – Endurance

Making the soft roll doesn’t really stick as a good memory in my head.
Being under batch 1 was already a red flag to life going downhill. Quite
exaggerated but having to perform just before just before examination week
along with projects and school works due prior on the same week? A big fat
sigh to that.
Onto the soft roll performance proper, first few procedures were going
well until the kneading came. Boy, did we a lot a long time for that. As a
result, we proceeded to bake the dough, unable to ferment it. Oh and it just
keeps getting better (sarcastically speaking, yes). My careless self really
didn't look around the surroundings and ended up giving an injury to my
partner. Man, it left quite a big scar on her (literally!). That incident
definitely got us a minus!
Despite it not being a good memory, it's one of the very unforgettable
ones. I still remember that day in detail! Sure there are quite a number of
regrets but as an amateur in this field, it should be understandable and as
humans, it should be alright as we make mistakes but also, we should learn
from it. I hope that one day, I can bake soft rolls once again, but this time,
without regrets.

This experience was really one of the memorable ones because first of
all, I got burnt and it left a mark. Second is we didn't have enough time to
rise our dough, so the outcome was not really satisfying. Lastly, even though
we did not have enough time to proof, the soft rolls still tasted good. I
learned that no matter how hard the task is, I should never give up and
loose hope since giving up gives us no good in our life. Another is, we should
manifest the virtue of patience in this activity because we can not finish
anything if we only whine and not do anything. I hope if we get another
chance in doing this, we will double our effort and strive to make competent
soft rolls.
