Charcoaled Banana (Musa Acuminata) Peel As A Source of Voltage
Charcoaled Banana (Musa Acuminata) Peel As A Source of Voltage
II. PROCEDURE
MAKING THE BANANA CHARCOAL
First, you have to slice the fresh banana peelings into small pieces.
Once the banana peelings are chopped, mix the three ingredients
together – the banana peelings, the charcoal dust and the sand. The
banana peelings should be more, approximately half of the mixture.
Charcoal dust and sand should each be a quarter of the quantity of
the peelings. The sap in the banana peelings will tie up the sand and
charcoal and dust. Then you make the briquettes of a suitable size.
They are put under the sun and are dried. Then they are ready for use
just like that. The drying takes a short time.
PULVERIZING THE CHARCOAL AND CALCIUM CARBIDE
When the Banana Charcoals are already dry, put it in a ziplock bag
and with a use hammer, pound it into smaller pieces until it becomes
as fine as powder. Do the same procedure to the calcium carbide. The
finer you make the powder the more power transfer will be available.
Take the sponge (dry is easier), invert the anode over it and draw a
circle. It should be the diameter of the aluminum case. Cut a circle
from the sponge slightly smaller than the circle. The sponge will
expand so you want to leave 1/8" or so all around.
Place the sponge inside the aluminum can and pour in the salt
water gradually allowing the sponge to expand. When the water just
comes to the top of the sponge place the copper mesh on top of the
sponge making sure it lays flat.
