their teacher using one word and be able to explain why that word would describe him or

Extension/Closure Activity
Description of What Teacher and Students Do:
Write short descriptions In order to make sure students are understanding the material provided we will provide
here them with a worksheet on character traits, while students are working the the teacher will
come over and observe each student work. Then ask if they need extra help by giving them
examples if needed. Student will later on for homework complete a character trait chart on
themselves or someone in their family.

a. A student being able to determine a character trait within a story would help the student adjust
in classroom setting knowing that every student in the classroom is not the same so it okay to
expect who you are and not to judge others.
b. This lesson covers both reading and writing. As a class we would listen and read along with
the story after the student would have to fill out a worksheet that will describe the main
character personal traits
Instructional Methods
As a class the students would be listening to a read aloud using the book “ A bad case of stripes”. After the
students would part take in a group discussion and filling out a worksheet based on Camila character traits and
and evidence that support that trait. We would complete two as a class then student are expected on their own
to complete the other two. Students are allowed to work together if needed.

Technology Incorporation
Technology is incorporated in this lesson by having the student watch a read aloud from online so they can
have an imagine and more understanding of the story by watching it as if it was a movie. This may help a child
grasp the context more due it not being read as a regular book.
