1 Background of the Study

Canvas by Instructure is a Learning Management System (LMS), designed specifically for the 21 st
century. Canvas main objective is to adaptable, reliable, customizable, easy-to-use, and mobile.
Every feature that the canvas holds are crafted to save your time and effort to make teaching easier,
as well as for learning. Canvas is design for K-12 learners and teacher. It fits every K-12 students
especiaaly because it is more techonologically based and convenient which every student nowadays
is seeking for. (Sharton,H 2017)

A Learning Management System is a web based or closed-based software program which assist in
teaching leaning process and helps in effective delivery of instruction, training and development
program. The Learning Management System facilities instructors, learners and administrator to use
and acess of service and is beyond the restriction of time and place in teaching and learning process.
Technically defined term for A learning management system is as: “A Learning Management System
is a software application for the administration, documentation, tracking, report and delivering by e-
learning education courses of training program (Ellias, R, 2009). Learning Management System has
two specification which is largely affeted the users:

1) LMS usability lies in the specified needs of an individual oran organization. It means may be an
LMS could be useful and very effetive for a university or academic purpose bus it does not mean
that it will said to the industries as well

2) Technically well-groomed assistant for the continous support. Technical support makes us able
to tackle any pitfalls or other issues which are hinderingthe best deliery of Learning
Management Systerm. Other popular names which are usedinterchangeably in the place of
Learning Management System are Personal Learning Environment (PLE), Course Management
System (CMS), Virtual Management System (VLE), E-Learning Courseware and Training
Management System (TMS) where TMS is widely used in industries and business purpose and
rest in terms like PLE, CMS and VLE mostly serves the educational field.
TAMS DAY
Technologies, Alternative, Methods, and Strategies Day is scheduled every Friday in which all
the performance task and other related activities of the different subjects are undertaken to
decongest students’ classroom activities from Monday to Thursday. This aims to give the
students more time to prepare students for their culmination activities.

Freeday Friday

Parents attended the first Parent-Teacher Conference of the Senior High School
Department at Far Eastern College-Silang on September 24 2018 at 1 pm at Moldex Gymnasium,
Metrogate Silang Estate, Silang, Cavite. SHS Faculty, SHS Student Council and SHS Director G.
Matthew M. Nepomuceno lead the conference where discussing important announcements and
reminders such as SHS Voucher. In addition, the new Technologies Alternative Method and
Strategies (TAMS) Day initially launched today is called Freeday Friday where the SHS students will
be out of school every Friday. In implementing it, one day will reduce student attendance at school and
increase the rest day with the family. But in spite of this there will be a cloud management system or a
canvas where teachers can assign online activities to each subject. (Mojica, C, 2018)
