To Whom it May Concern,

I am writing this letter in regards to Melissa Mielko, who is seeking employment in your district. Ms. Mielko
worked as a fourth grade teacher at Cambridge School during the 2017-2018 school year.

Ms. Mielko planned and implemented lessons in all content areas. She worked with both her immediate mentor
and our school-based mentor to gain a greater understanding of the curriculum and professional expectations of
our district. Ms. Mielko also worked with our district reading specialist and language arts supervisor to enhance
her reading instruction.

Ms. Mielko’s biggest strength as a teacher was in the area of classroom management. She created a warm,
inviting classroom space where students were respected and expectations were consistent and enforced. Ms.
Mielko de-escalated inappropriate behavior quietly and appropriately.

Ms. Mielko was involved in several school initiatives. She volunteered her time at the PTO Bingo Night and as a
judge for our district’s Odyssey of the Mind Showcase. She also was a member of the school Science Fair
Committee and was a volunteer softball coach at our middle school.
