Schools, presents best practices for teaching ELL students to read, write,
and comprehend.

6:45 to 7:30 ​Strategies for Building Successful Readers

Stephanie Knicely​, Rockingham County Schools, ​shares how to support
phonemic awareness in large and small groups. She also describes the
structured literacy instruction she uses with emergent, beginning, and
struggling readers.

Learning to Write vs Writing to Learn
C.J. Hill​, Staunton City Schools, ​shares how to bridge the gap from
elementary school writing to high school school writing.

There will be light snacks provided.
