Integration of Stakeholder Requirements
Curra Community Stakeholder Workshop was held on 17 May 2016 at Curra Country Club.
Throughout the design process, feedback and outcomes from the Stakeholder Workshop
were addressed in our concept design. Key stakeholder requirements were considered as
follows:

1. Moveable Partition Walls 4. Specialist Lighting

The main hall floor space has been left as an open space and two ‘meeting rooms’ / General lighting and electrical requirements have been included. Portable specialist lighting to
‘gathering spaces’ have been created on the verandah to accommodate smaller groups for be provided by user group.
both formal and informal gathering. Acoustic portable partition walls can be housed in the
storage room and used when required. Partition walls not included in budget. 5. Acoustics
The hall has been designed as a traditional “Shoebox”, which for acoustic principles is the
best design for sound quality, concerts and performances. The acoustic performance can be
enhanced with additional consultation input provided by an Acoustic Engineer who may consider
acoustic panelling etc.

6. Accessibility
General stair and ramp access has been considered to ensure hall is accessible to everyone in
the community and compliant with AS.1428.1-2009.

7. Stage
Rather than incorporating a fixed stage into the design, the floor plan will remain more flexible if
portable stage platforms are utilised when required and then stored away.
2. In house PA System and AV
Installation of the wiring suitable for future PA System integration and user brought AV
equipment has been included in budget. Equipment not included.

3. Storage - Lockable
One lockable storage room, incorporating shelving has been created with dual access, both
internal and external to accommodate tables, chairs and hall supplies. See Plan SD.04.

Independent lockable storage solutions can be purchased and kept in the storage room for
each group if required. Not included in budget.

8. Design for Future Expansion

In designing the hall it was important to consider future expansion considerations as community
needs and requirements may change in the future. The building has been divided structurally
into 3.6m bays (defined by the spacing of trusses overhead) with idea that additional bays could
be added to the east in the future. The area nominated on Plan SD.04, demonstrates the future
foot-print of the building if this were to occur. The building has been aligned to the western edge
of the tennis court, providing ample room to the east for expansion to occur.
