Theory:
Law of conservation of energy:
Energy can neither be created nor be destroyed; it only changes from one form to another.
For case of rolling disc on inclined plane, the following energies are involved:
3. Potential Energy:
This energy is due to height of the disc and is given by,
P.E. =mgh
Where, m=mass of body
g=gravitational acceleration (9.81m/s2)
h= height of body from datum
Total energy=constant
For inclined plane, when disc moves from position 1 at height h1 to position 2 at height h2,
𝑻. 𝑬𝒊 =𝑻. 𝑬𝒇
𝑷𝑬𝒊 + (𝑲. 𝑬 + 𝑹. 𝑬)𝒊 = 𝑷𝑬𝒇 − (𝑲. 𝑬 + 𝑹. 𝑬)𝒇
At maximum height ‘𝒉𝒊 ’ – There will no others forms of energy other than Potential energy.
