Motion turns into Energy

Energy turns into Motion

Introduction

PowerCore Fully Processed (PowerCore FP) Cold Rolled Non Grain Oriented
(CRNGO) Steel is isotropic in nature and magnetic properties in all direction generally
remain unchanged. CRNGO Electrical Steel exhibits anisotropy with increase in Silicon
content, which constitutes one of the major alloying elements. Material is supplied in
coated condition, which has very good insulation resistance.

ThyssenKrupp Electrical Steel India (TKES India) introduced the next

generation High Permeability PowerCore FP material in India. These are referred as
"PowerCore AP Grades". For a given core loss, PowerCore AP Grades combines the
advantages of low coreloss and high permeability.

Registered Office & Factory Power Core AP grades are essentially used as core material for high efficiency
At Post Gonde, motors. PowerCore AP grades help in downsizing the equipment and reduce the overall

Advantages Of PowerCore FP

ySuperior magnetic properties results in

yHigher efficiency of equipment providing competitive edge to our customers.
yDown sizing of equipment possible (with design changes) reducing the cost.
yBetter performance star rating of electrical equipment.
yHigher equipment export potential.
yLower heat generation leading to reduced burnout tendency of equipment.
yRewinding of motors is delayed increasing the efficient operating life, as each rewinding reduces efficiency by
approximately 2%.

yLower as supplied carbon content results in

yNon ageing magnetic properties guaranteeing consistent equipment performance throughout the operating life.
Major savings in life cycle cost.

yTechnological know-how of ThyssenKrupp and continuous interaction with customers enable our Application Engineers
to assist our customers in realising value for money from PowerCore FP grades.

yA team of Application Engineers help our customers in selecting appropriate PowerCore grade for intended application
minimising risk and cost. Properties are at par with international grades.

yFollowing alternates of conventional fully processed electrical steel are offered exclusively by TKES India.
yHigh Permeability PowerCore AP grades.
yPowerCore FP grades in 0.35, 0.65 mm and 1.0 mm thickness for given magnetic properties.

PowerCore AP Grades: Characteristics

yAP grade possess high permeability as compared to conventional fully processed grade.

yCoreloss of AP grade is lower as compared to conventional grade.

yMagnetic polarization of AP grade is approximately 3 to 8% higher as compared to conventional grade.

yPermeability of AP grade is approximately 30% higher as compared to conventional grade.

yAP grades are non ageing.

yAP grades plays key role in production of high efficiency electrical equipments and downsizing of electrical equipments
Modification in design required to achieve best results.

Advantages Of High Permeability AP Grades Over Conventional
PowerCore FP Grades

y Higher permeability and lower core loss result into lower no load losses and higher energy efficiency of
equipment.

y With modification in slot geometry, air gap and other design parameters, equipment can be down sized resulting
into substantial long term cost savings.

Advantages Of 0.65 mm Thick PowerCore FP Material

y 0.65 mm thickness results in

y Approximately 30% higher productivity in slitting, shearing and punching.

y Approximately 30% additional capacity available for new business without capital investment. Utilising
this additional capacity could result in reduction of fixed cost.

y Higher stacking factor and better flatness of stampings.
