General repairs Slips / Trips / Wear appropriate non-slip footwear Contractor Falls and inspect area for trip hazards before commencing cleaning. Working outdoors Sunburn Sunhat / glasses / sunscreen / Contractor protective clothing. Repairing Equipment Electrocution Ensure all tools are appropriately Contractor guarded and electrical appliances are protected by means of a residual current device. Ensure all extension leads are in a safe condition with plugs and connections properly wired. Working at height Working at Do not use ladder over 2m high. Use Contractor height. cherry picker or scaffold. Establish Electrical perimeter around area that is no-go hazards area. Ensure there are no electrical cables in the vicinity of area. Using power tools Noise / Wear appropriate personal Contractor Vibration / protective equipment. Ensure all Dust / tools are appropriately guarded and Electrical electrical appliances are protected hazards. by means of a residual current device. Ensure all extension leads are in a safe condition with plugs and connections. Lifting / Moving Back strain Avoid sharp twisting movements and Contractor objects do not over reach when using tools.
NOTE: It is recommended that every Contractor complete and sign the Solutions in Engineering “Contractors Safe Working Agreement”
