Musical Hoops

Resource: Pied Piper, Music Activities to Develop Basic Skills
Purpose: to develop listening skill, do movements with the music
Musical and non-musical goals: to speed up reactions and encourage group
cooperation
Age group: kindergarten and elementary school students
Adaptations or additional activities: fill the circle with different colors and ask the
students to do different movements in different circles
Possible applications for special populations: hoops don't have to be scattered
around the classroom. Teacher can draw a big circle in the middle of the classroom
to make it easier for students to focus on their goals
