Hannah Crull-Sher Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss and I second the recommendation for Way of Kings
(and everything else by Brandon Sanderson). Are you looking exclusively for high fantasy or are you interested
in Urban Fantasy as well?
Jodie Rose Callen Anything by Robin Hobb. Game of Thrones series by George rr Martin. Patrick Rothfuss is
great but the series is unfinished as with GoT. The Priory Of The Orange Tree by Samantha Shannon.

Rachel Reynolds Anything written by Drew Hayes. My favorite is his Superpowereds series
Gretchen Wrobel I absolutely love Juliet Marillier. Her world building is super strong. I love the Sevenwaters
series!
I've also just started The Bear and the Nightengale and I'm really enjoying it.

Kimberley Anderson The first law trilogy by Joe Abercrombie. Or anything by him really. Also the fifth season
trilogy by NK Jemisin
Natalia Alexeivna The redemption of althalus, it's fun and pretty original. The world building is awesome, the
plot is interesting and it's honestly one of my favourite books. And it's standalone! The authors have done a lot of
other novels if you like their writing style too.
Emily Kompare Jacqueline Carey's Kushiel trilogies and Naamah trilogy! Start with Kushiel's Dart, you won't
be able to put it down and it DEFINITELY can't be confused for YA! 😂
Jessica Pennington The Fever series by Karen Marie Moning (Urban Fantasy)
Alexandra Thompson Sword of Truth, kingkiller chronicles, the hundred thousand kingdoms. The hollows
series (urban fantasy)
Kristina Kunštek Naomi Novik's Uprooted is as adultish as it can get- magic, mages, romance, a cursed wood
and scenes that won't let you sleep at night. It is a standalone.
Kell Nelson shades of magic by v.e. schwab for sure. also vicious and villains, also by her
Favorite fantasy book? Looking for something good for someone in their 20s. Thank you!

Ellen Rackley The Name of the Wind. Beware, though, that book 3 has been "in the works" for like a decade.
That said, SO GOOD!

Jessica Pennington A Court of Thorns and Roses series by Sarah J Maas would be perfect for that age (esp if
they like romance), The Cruel King by Holly Black, An Enchantment of Ravens by Margaret Rogerson, Roar by
Cora Carmack...

Mia Faith Ingallina *prepares power point* I haven't read through all the comments because I'm too excited to
answer this, but if you end up liking Mr. Sanderson, check out Brent Weeks' stuff if you haven't! They're good
friends in reality and their books are similar in the way that they're incredible, but they are both unique. I suggest
Stormllight by Sanderson and Lightbringer by Weeks. Old Kingdom by Garth Nix has been a long time favorite
of mine. If you like urban fantasy, check out Dresden Files by Jim Butcher. Codex Alera, also by him, is a
wonderful series, too. Again for urban fantasy, check out Iron Druid by Kevin Hearne. The series was just
recently finished and it was wonderful. More urban fantasy includes Kate Daniels and Mercy Thompson.
Chronicles of Elantra is a high fantasy series written by a woman that has no romance in it, if you're interested in
something unique like that. Also, if you end up reading Iron Druid, please please please check out the audio
books! The narrator is absolutely spectacular, and he puts everything into those books. It's so far from just a
book when you listen to it like that.
Mia Faith Ingallina Definitely second Court of Thorns and Roses, and also Throne of Glass by the same author.
Skullduggery Pleasant by Derek Landy is a very good series as well. Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi is fantastic if
you (whoever this is for, I just realized it might not be you!) like interesting writing styles. It's highly
metaphorical and wordy, but I loved it. Also also, Marissa Meyer's Lunar Chronicles! They're 4 books which are
sci-fi, futuristic twists on 4 different fairy tales. It sounds weird, but ugh, it was amazing. Just got my boyfriend
to read them and he thought they were great! She also wrote an Alice and Wonderland book called Heartless.
I've never read the original, but what she wrote was incredibly wonderfully amazing. I'll stop now. :)
Thomas Palladino Kelsey Knox it’s truly phenomenal! Slow start, so ready yourself for that but then enjoy the
journey!
