Maria: ​Female, late teens. An illegal immigrant from Mexico. A bright-eyed, innocent, hopeless
romantic and an illegal immigrant. Currently working at a restaurant with friends she met while
working there.She falls in love with Tony despite their conflicting family values. Has to know how
to play guitar. Mezzo-Soprano.

Rosalita: ​Female, late teens. A talkative and passionate girl, who works in America to provide
for her family in Mexico. She was the first person Maria met when she started working at the
restaurant and has now become one of her best friends. Mezzo

Consuelo:​ Female, late teens.​ ​A young and tough girl filled with the desire to be a fully legal
immigrant. She is the youngest girl of the friend group which the other girls pick fun at
sometimes. She always wants the best for Maria and strives to always make sure she is happy.
