    Discussion Assignment

    How exposed is your country to globalization? What have been the political, economic,
    technological, social, environmental, or other impacts of the globalization trend on your
    country? They can be negative or positive impacts.

    Written Assignment

    The Promise and Perils of Globalization: the Case of Nike


    In its 45 years of existence, Nike has developed from a small operation to a household name,
    present on all continents. However, in the 1990s Nike came under scrutiny for various unethical
    practices.
    • Explain how Nike came to that situation through its expansion strategy
    • Explain the positive and negative impacts of this strategy
    • Explain how Nike responded to this situation
    • In your opinion, how could the company have responded differently?
    • What would the consequences have been then?

    Write a four-page, double-spaced essay covering the five questions above. Use your own
    words. Do not copy and paste from any website.
